Wilsonville, Oregon — Mentor Graphics today announced that the Nucleus Multimedia Framework (MMF) has passed OpenMAX IL conformance testing, making it the first commercial OS to achieve such validation from the Khronos Group. The Nucleus OS incorporates a user interface engine that enables the creation and customization of user interfaces for devices such as mobile phones and personal media players. The Nucleus Multimedia Framework extends this capability, enabling audio and video content to be incorporated throughout a device's user interface. OpenMAX IL compliance improves interoperability when porting and optimizing new multimedia components on this platform.
